New Delhi, 9th September: The National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog member Dr VK Paul said on Thursday that the compulsory vaccination of children for opening of schools is not right. Such condition is not valid anywhere in the world. It is not accepted by any scientific and infectious disease prevention organization. However, all teachers and staff of the school should be vaccinated.

On the question of vaccine, Dr Paul said that some countries have approved the vaccine for children. The World Health Organization has also not given any clear instructions in this regard so far. The children’s vaccine prepared by Zydus Company has been approved in the country, but the government is currently discussing its use. Only the expert committee constituted for this will take the decision.

In the press conference, Dr Paul said that 58 percent adults above 18 years of age in the country have been given the first dose of the vaccine. It should be up to 100 percent. No one in the country should be left out of vaccination and its pace should be increased so that herd immunity can be developed.

The results of the first phase of the nasal vaccine are promising

Dr VK Paul informed that the first phase trial of Bharat Biotech’s Nasal Vaccine has been completed in the country. Its results are very promising. The second and third phase trials are still going on. Its results will have to be waited for now. Nasal vaccine prevents the virus from entering the body.
