Vaccination against Covid-19 crosses 1 cr in 24 days in Uttar Pradesh

Yogi government accomplished the mission of June six days ago.

Chief Minister Yogi had set a target of one crore vaccination for Mission June.

So far, more than 2 crore 80 lakh vaccines have been administered in the state.

Lucknow, June 24: Amidst the fear of the third wave of Covid-19, the number of vaccinations across the state has crossed one crore. The state government has already accomplished the target of one crore vaccination under Mission June. On Thursday, this claim was made by Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad.

He said that the state government had set a target of administering 1 crore vaccine doses under the inoculation drive that started from June 1. Till Wednesday, 97 lakh people had been given vaccine-cover. On Thursday, this figure crossed 1 crore. The state government is also fulfilling the target of administering at least 6 lakh vaccines every day from June 21 to 30.

He told that a total of 7, 84000 people have been given vaccine doses on Wednesday. There were 5 lakh 27 thousand people in the age group of 18-44. So far, more than 2 crore 80 lakh vaccine doses have been administered across the state. More than 41 lakh 42 thousand people have taken both the doses of the vaccine. Preparations have also been completed to provide vaccine-cover to at least 10 lakh people every day from July 1.

Prasad further said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to take special vigil after patients of the new variant “Delta Plus” of Covid appeared in many states of the country. He has asked the state level health expert advisory committee to make necessary strategies for this.

He said that the border districts have been specially alerted in view of the cases of Delta Plus variant in the adjoining state. In view of the possibility of third wave of Covid, the government has given instructions to complete all the necessary efforts at the earliest. Along with expediting the process of setting up Piku, Niku, it has been asked to ensure the availability of all necessary equipment including Bipack machine, Pediatric ICU, Mobile X-ray machine. According to the advice of health experts, with the purchase of all necessary useful medicines, all the work has been asked to be completed within 15 days.

Additional Chief Secretary Health said that in the last 24 hours, more than 2 lakh 71 thousand sample tests have been done in the state. Not a single infected patient has been found in 20 districts whereas in 49 districts, infected patients have been found in one digit. Corona patients have been found in double digits only in 6 districts. The positivity rate in the state has been recorded at 0.08 percent.

โ€œIn the last 24 hours, 229 new cases have come and 308 people have been cured. A total of 3 thousand 552 infected patients are being treated in the state. 2149 people are in home isolation. So far a total of 5, 62, 71, 231 Covid tests have been done. The number of people recovering in the state has exceeded 16 lakh 79 thousand.
