Uttar Pradesh CM hosts lunch for newly elected MPs of BJP

Lucknow: Newly elected Members of Parliament[MPs] of Bharatiya Janta Party[BJP] from Uttra Pradesh on Wednesday attended a lunch hosted by the UP’s CM Yogi Adityanath at his official residence, 05 Kalidas Marg.

On this occasion, Yogi Adityanth also congratulated all the elected MPs of BJP on their winning Lower House elections 2019 from various parliamentary constituencies of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, CM said that the Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi has increased the value and respect of the country in the world through his devotion to the duty and hard work. “People’s faith and trust in the words of PM Narendra Modi have compelled them to come out from their home to vote to elect the PM of the country. In this election, thinking above the party and candidates, public had already decided to vote to choose the PM of the country. As a result, BJP has successfully crossed the magic figure of 272, winning 303 seats in India and 64 seats in UP in the Lok Sabha elections”, quoted Yogi.

Besides newly elected MPs, election in charge for state JP Nadda, state party President Mahendra Nath Pandey, Dy. CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and state General Secretary Sunil Bansal were also attended the lunch.

The 2019 Indian general elections was held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha and counting of votes took place on May 23, and the results were also announced on the same day. About 900 million people were eligible to vote and turnout was over 67 percent- the highest ever as well as highest participation by women voters.

BJP won 303 seats, and BJP-led National Democratic Alliance [NDA] won 353 seats, whereas the main opposition in the Lok Sabha, Congress Party won 52 seats and Congress-led United Progressive Alliance [UPA] won 91 seats.
