‘Desi’ hooch kills 8 persons in Barabanki, father and his 3 sons also died

Barabanki:  At least eight persons have died after consuming spurious liquor in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district on Tuesday. Out of eight victims, four  belong to the same family.

However, the district officials have put the death toll at six. The incident has taken place in Raniganj of Ramnagar area which comes into Barabanki district.

While, nearly two dozen persons have been admitted at the Ramnagar Community Health Center[CHC] after the incidents have come to light.

All the victims have bought the poisonous liquor from the government liquor shop which has been given on lease to one Danvir Singh. Those who consumed the liquor have complained of loss of eyesight.

As per the sources, Danvir Singh was selling spurious liquor from government outlet and also having illegal liquor factory.

Although, all the district officials have reached the hospital to see the admitted victims and probe into the matter have begun.

Uttra Pradesh’s CM Yogi Adityanath has taken serious note of the matter and instructed district officials to penalise those responsible for selling illicit liquor. He also ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.

Among the victims are three brothers and their father. Ramesh , Mukesh and Sonu are brothers while Chhotelal is their father. All four have died now after consuming poisonous liquor.
