UP: Kushinagar International Airport with the longest runway

Gorakhpur, October 18: Kushinagar located in Purvanchal has the distinction of being the longest runway airport in the state. It is the third international airport after Varanasi and Lucknow. Flights will start from this third international airport from October 20.

Here you know some important things about this international airport with the longest runway in the state-

The longest Runway Kushinagar International Airport in the state is of Kushinagar. Its length is 3.2 kilometers and width is 45 meters.

The runway capacity is four arrivals, four departures per hour.

Steps are being taken to make flying possible even at night.

The Interim Passenger Terminal Building is built in 3600 sqm.

Peak hour passenger capacity is 300.

The Greenfield Airport was signed between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Airport Authority of India on 05 March 2019.

On October 10, 2019, the state government handed over it to the airport authority.

On June 24, 2020, the Union Cabinet gave the status of an international airport.

On February 22, 2021, DGCA approved it for international flight by licensing it.

PM Narendra Modi will launch it on October 20.
