UP govt steps to check copying in Board exams

Lucknow, 28 January: The Yogi Adityanath government has issued diktats for crackdown on unfair means and cheating during the UP board exams.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the Board of Secondary Education to take all necessary steps to ensure that the upcoming board exams starting in February remain copy-free.

In this regard guidelines have been issued by the Board of Secondary Education for the invigilators during the examinations. In these, from the selection of invigilators to the tasks and responsibilities performed by them, a complete account has been given.

It is said that 50 percent room invigilators will be kept external at each examination center. Also, the teacher of that subject will not be put on duty as a room invigilator in the session on which the subject is to be examined. Not only this, no girl examinee will be searched by the male invigilator and like the students, the room invigilator will also use mobile,

According to the Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education, Divyakant Shukla, two room invigilators will be in each room and an arrangement of one reliever will be kept between the five rooms. If more than 40 students are appearing in one room, then three invigilators can be appointed there. If invigilators are not available as per the requirement of the centre, teachers of secondary schools should be appointed first in the order of priority. In the end, teachers of primary schools should be appointed as invigilators . Women invigilators will be compulsorily appointed at the examination centers where the examination of girls will be held. No teacher shall be appointed at a particular examination center on the basis of his/her application for his/her vested interest.

50 percent room invigilators will be kept outside at the examination center. Similarly such invigilators whose acquaintances and relatives are taking the examination at the center will not be eligible for the inspection at that center. The list of such teachers of the schools related to the examination centers will be prepared by the concerned Principal or Center Administrator and sent to the District Inspector of Schools.

Not only this, in order to maintain hassle-free examinations, it has been decided that in the high school and intermediate examinations of the council, it will be ensured that the teachers of the schools whose students are appearing at that center should not be appointed at the examination centres. . Similarly, the teachers of the schools run under the same management system will not be assigned the duty of invigilator at the prescribed examination centers.

Full attention has to be given to the confidentiality and safety of the question papers. Also, it has to be seen that the candidates are not able to enter the examination hall with any copy material, mobile phone, calculator or such electronic device. The invigilator will inspect the examination room and ensure that there is no text material, poster, chart, written instructions on the black board which are beneficial to the examinees.

For the first time in High School, the examination of objective type questions of 20 marks in all subjects is being conducted on OMR sheets. It will be the responsibility of the invigilators to provide OMR sheets along with answer books to the examinees within time. If any examinee’s health deteriorates during the examination, the invigilator will immediately inform the center administrator and will cooperate in sending the concerned examinee to the nearest hospital for first aid.
