New Delhi, 28 January: The Central Government on Saturday changed the name of the Mughal Garden at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi to ‘Amrit Udyan’ in order to come out of the ‘mindset of slavery’ in the ‘Amrit Kaal’ of independence.

Navika Gupta, Deputy Press Secretary to President Droupadi Murmu said, “On the occasion of ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’ to celebrate 75 years of Independence, the President has given Rashtrapati Bhavan Garden a common name as Amrit Udyan”.

President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Udyan Utsav on January 29. After this, from January 31 to March 26, Amrit Udyan will be open to the general public for two months. By booking online, people will be able to visit Amrit Udyan and see 12 varieties of tulips and other flowers. It will be closed on every Monday of the week. Apart from this, it will also be closed on March 8 on account of Holi.
