UP: Corona cases jump, recovery rate affected, people coming from other states on Holi found infected

Lucknow, 22 March: Due to spike in cases of the Covid-19 across the state, the concern of health department has increased as the crowd of shoppers in the markets has swelled due to the festival of Holi and people are being careless about following Covid-19 protocols like physical distance and wearing mask resulting in there is a possibility of rising the risk of people coming into contact with each other during the festival.

On the other hand, people from other states are reaching the Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the festival among their loved ones.

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Monday that 542 new cases have come up in the last twenty four hours. At the same time, the recovery rate in the state is currently 98.00 percent. It was 98.25 percent a few days ago, but it has declined due to caseload of corona infection in the state.

He said that although there has been a big jump in the cases of infection in other states, there has been a slight increase in UP. Yet, it is time to be very careful and cautious.

ACS Medical Health said that people from other states are travelling to their homes on the occasion of Holi, hence, when their corona samples are being tested at the railway station, many people are witnessing infection. Such people will also infect other family members when they go home. Therefore, it is requested that people coming from outside should get their test done.

Additional Chief Secretary Medical Health said that the number of active cases in the state has now increased to 3,396. So far 8,760 people have died from the infection. A total of 1, 35,257 samples were examined in the state in one day yesterday. At the same time, a total of 3, 37, 15,631 samples have been tested in the state so far.

He informed that so far 5, 95,920 people have been recovered from Covid-19 in the state. A population of 15,31,30,373 of 3,15,44,836 households has been surveyed through 5,13,469 team days in 1,86,806 areas through surveillance teams in the state.

So far, more than 40 lakh vaccination doses have been given

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health informed that today the program of giving coronavirus jab is underway in the entire state. According to the information so far, vaccine doses have been given to more than one lakh people. At the same time, more than 40 lakh vaccination doses have been given in the state so far.

34,967 Golden Cards made in Chief Minister Arogya Mela

He said that on Sunday, Chief Minister Jan Arogya Mela was organized at primary health centers across the state. In this, 2, 46,777 patients underwent their screening, of which 2,698 were referred for treatment at higher centers. Apart from this, 34,967 Ayushman Bharat’s Golden Cards were also made in these fairs yesterday.
