UP: Campaign to beat TB- Door-to-door search to start from next month

Lucknow, 25 December: Along with controlling the coronavirus infection, the battle for defeating tuberculosis (TB) has kicked off in the state. For this, the TB patients will be searched and treated by campaigning.

Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Friday that active case finding will be done during this campaign. Initially, till January 01, samples of TB will be taken in places like prisons, old age homes, Nari Niketan, child protection homes etc. where people live close to each other. Corona samples will also be collected at these locations.

He informed that after this, people will be investigated door-to-door through Asha Worker, ANM etc. during the active case finding campaign in the state from January 02. During this, samples of people will be taken on getting symptoms.

According to the state government, the main goal of the campaign is to reach out to more people with the available facilities of tuberculosis and find hidden patients of more and more active TB and achieve the goal of TB free India by the year 2025 of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. .

According to doctors, if a person complains of cough for more than two weeks, bleeding while coughing, chest pain, fever, loss of weight, then he should get his mucus checked immediately. Detection and treatment of TB patients is available completely free of cost.
