Other states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra top the list of active cases
Result of successful policy of Yogi government, now only 8,101 active cases in the state
Lucknow, June 14: Coronavirus cases are continuously decreasing across Uttar Pradesh. In most districts of the most populous state, now less than ten numbers of infection figures are being recorded.
The government claimed that due to the successful decisions and guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, today the situation in Uttar Pradesh has improved compared to many other states.
According to a spokesperson of the state government, the total number of active cases in Uttar Pradesh has come down to 8,101 on Monday. In the last 24 hours, 339 new cases of corona infection were reported across the state, while in the meantime 1,116 people were discharged after recovering. This figure is quite a relief because despite being the most populous state, UP is in a better position than other states in terms of active cases.
The spokesperson said that due to Chief Minister Yogi’s policy of tracing, testing and treatment, Uttar Pradesh is very low in the list of active cases, leaving other states far behind.
He said that according to district-wise data collected by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare between June 5 and 11, about 258 or 35 percent of India’s 734 districts have high test positivity rates of more than five percent, while the highest the most populous state is Uttar Pradesh and has the lowest overall test positivity rate of three per cent.
Drop in test positivity rate in UP
The spokesman said that the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) of Uttar Pradesh has come down to 0.1 percent, which is the lowest ever. The state’s test positive rate has been below 1 percent for several days. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra with high number of fresh cases have miserably failed to show any reduction in their daily test positivity rates which are 10, 12.72 and 5 per cent respectively.
Over five crore Covid-19 tests done in UP
So far 5, 36, 2, 870 Covid tests have been conducted in the state. In the last 24 hours, 02 lakh 57, 441 tests were done and the positivity rate was only 0.1 percent, while the recovery rate has gone up to 98.2 percent.
In the midst of the Corona epidemic, so far 16, 72, 968 people of the state have become free from Covid infection.
Vaccination gives relief to the people of the state
The spokesman said that the process of Covid vaccination is underway fast in the state. Yogi government is starting a special campaign for free vaccination of rickshaw-auto drivers, street vendors and fruit-vegetable vendors from today. So far, more than 02 crore 34 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in the state.
In this, there are about 38 lakh 43 thousand people who have received both the doses of the vaccine. The Yogi government has set a target of giving 10-12 lakh vaccine doses daily from July.
These states are top in the list in active cases
An official spokesperson said that Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Assam, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Gujarat top the list when it comes to the most active cases in the country.
