Tokyo Olympics: Boxer Satish Kumar enters quarterfinals, hopes of medals high

Tokyo, July 29: Indian boxer Satish Kumar has entered the quarter-finals by defeating Jamaica’s Ricardo Brown in the plus 91kg category.

Satish defeated Brown 4-1. Satish is a two-time Asian Championship bronze medallist.

The Jamaican boxer had no answer to Satish’s attacks. He didn’t give Brown any chance to recover with his punches. In every round, Satish was heavy on Brown.

Satish Kumar won the first round 5-0. The second and third rounds were won by Satish 4-1. Brown is the first boxer for Jamaica to qualify for the Olympics since 1996.

Satish Kumar will face defending world champion Bakhudir Jalolov in the quarterfinals.
