Policeman fined Rs 5000 for driving a car without number plate

Kanpur, 29 July: A challan of Rs five thousand has been slapped against a car of a police inspector deployed in the security of the Governor on Thursday.

Actually, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandben Patel was going to attend a program in Auraiya district by road today after a day’s stay in Kanpur. Tight security arrangements were made on the way by the Kanpur Commissionerate for her protection. In view of security, like other police personnel, the duty of SI Mahendra Singh posted in Naubasta police station was imposed. He had reached the Governor’s VVIP duty in Naubasta Bamba in his WagonR car without a number plate.

After parking the car, he was posted at his duty point. During this, the Fleet of Police Commissioner Aseem Arun was passing while checking the security standards. He saw a car parked without a number plate and with the logo of the police.

The Commissioner of Police immediately ordered the Naubasta station in-charge to check the car and challan it.

Naubasta police station in-charge Satish Kumar Singh challaned five thousand rupees of the inspector’s car.

In this regard, Commissioner of Police Asim Arun said that the police lines and all the police stations have been ordered that no one should be found driving a car without the number plate. Driving without a number plate is a crime. In the same sequence, challan has been issued for getting a vehicle without number plate of police personnel on duty today. The CP said that such action will continue to be taken for violating traffic rules.
