Temp declines owing to drizzle and high gusts in UP, Holi day likely to witness rainy day

Kanpur, 21 March: The weather of Uttar Pradesh suddenly changed on Wednesday due to the activity of western disturbance. In many districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, there were strong winds along with drizzle, which also affected the central region and a mild cold was felt in the morning.

The Meteorological Department says that the directions of the winds have changed due to which the temperature will now increase, but on March 23, another western disturbance is becoming active which will again affect Uttar Pradesh and there is a possibility of light rain.

Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology meteorologist Dr. S.N. Sunil Pandey said on Thursday that a cyclonic circulation has persisted up to 1.5 km above mean sea level over northern Telangana and surrounding areas. A trough at low level is extending from Coastal Karnataka to North Central Maharashtra. A trough is extending from Northeast Madhya Pradesh to Assam across the cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh. The cyclonic circulation is over Jharkhand and a trough extends from 5.8 to 12.6 km above sea level from Bihar through Jharkhand to South Odisha. Fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of March 23.

In view of these weather activities, strong winds with a speed of 25 to 35 kilometers per hour are expected in Uttar Pradesh in the coming days. Whereas on March 22, the weather may remain dry in western and eastern UP. The weather is expected to remain clear in the state on March 23 also, but due to the activity of western disturbance on the same night, there is a possibility of rain at some places in the state on March 24. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain and thundershowers at some places in western Uttar Pradesh on March 24.

He told reporters that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 14.6 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 86 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 77 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 8.0 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate cloud movement in Kanpur in the next five days along with intermittent strong winds, but there is no possibility of rain.
