Relief from foreign countries delivered to 38 institutions in 31 states and UTs: Health Ministry

New Delhi, 04 May: In view of the surge in the cases of coronavirus across the country, there is a lot of help arriving from the global community. Materials from abroad include medical equipment, medicines, oxygen, and ventilators are coming.

According to the Health Ministry, all these relief materials have so far been sent to 38 institutions in 31 states and union territories. Relief materials have been sent to the states most affected by Corona.

The first few days were covered through the states AIIMS and other central institutions, where corona patients were more and the need was more there.

Apart from this, assistance is also being provided to the Central Government hospitals including DRDO centres in Delhi and NCR. Major equipment includes BAP machines, oxygen concentrators, PSA oxygen plants, oximeters, PPE kits and masks.

 According to the ministry, the Central Government has made arrangements to distribute medical and other relief materials to the states. A cell has been set up in the ministry under the Additional Secretary of Health, which includes officers from several ministries. This cell has been in operation since 26 April.
