Record purchase of paddy from farmers by UP Government

So far 657.14 MT of paddy has been purchased.

Lucknow, 05 October: The Uttar Pradesh Government has ensured the procurement of more than 10 times paddy from farmers so far this year, relative to the previous year under Kharif purchase year 2020-21.

Last year, 55.42 MT of paddy was procured during this period, while 657.14 MT of paddy has been purchased so far this year.

The state government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of Grade-A paddy at Rs 1,888 per quintal and the minimum support price for general paddy at Rs 1,868 per quintal.

Food Commissioner Manish Chauhan said on Monday that the procurement of paddy from farmers has been started in the state from October 01. This year 4,000 paddy procurement centers have been approved by the state government. 1200 of Food Department, 1350 of PCF, 70 of UP Agro, 160 of UPSF, 500 of UPPCU, 150 of SFC, c. Paddy is being procured at 60 purchasing centers of KC, 140 of NCCF, 100 of NAFED, 150 of Mandi Parishad and 120 of Bhakhani.

The state government has also instructed all the districts that funds should be transferred to the account of each farmer within 72 hours. Along with this, ensuring the establishment of Covid help desk at every paddy purchasing center, the Covid-19 protocol should also be followed.
