Etawah, July 09: The police team has been working hard for 24 hours to nab absconding gangster Vikas Dubey and his accomplices in the Uttar Pradesh Kanpur murder case.
In the same sequence, the Etawah police have late last night shot down carnage mastermind Vikas Dubey’s another close hitmen Praveen Dubey alias Bauva during an encounter. This information was given by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akash Tomar.
SSP Akash Tomar said that four unidentified miscreants in Scorpio car had committed the robbery of the Swift Dzire car on the Agra Kanpur highway under the Bakewar Police Station area.
“After this information was received on the police control room, the police swung into action and started intensive vehicle checking drive on all the police station areas. In the same sequence, late night, the police observed coming of Swift Dzire car and Scorpio on Kachora Ghat road under Civil Lines police station area after which, both cars were signalled to stop by the police and the crime branch team, but the crooks ran away by dodging the police,” informed Tomar.
“During this time, the police started chasing the Swift Desire car, however, sensing the police chasing them, the crooks started firing on the police. In retaliation in self-defense, the police also started firing on miscreants. In the encounter that occurred late at night, one criminal died on the spot. The remaining three crooks managed to flee,” added SSP.
He said the police recovered a swift desire vehicle, a pistol, a double barrel gun and cartridges from a slain criminal. Vikas Dubey’s hitmen killed in the encounter has been identified as Boua alias Praveen Dubey, resident of village Bikru police station Chaubepur in Kanpur district. The miscreant was a member of Vikas Dubey gang, the main accused in the carnage case in Kanpur and a reward of fifty thousand was announced by the state government.
