PM Modi multimodal waterways meet in Varanasi from Friday

Varanasi, 10 November: Prime Minister’s Gatishakti Multimodal two-day summit has been organised from Friday at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Hastkala Sankul located in Baralalpur here which will be attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey will participate in this two-day conference.

Sonowal will inaugurate the conference. According to officials, in this conference organised by the Inland Waterways Authority of India, which works under the central Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, there will be discussions on the development of infrastructure in the waterways sector and the Prime Minister’s Gatishakti National Masterplan.

Senior officials from the concerned ministries and departments, experts from the Port Authority sector and experts from the private sector will participate.

On the first day of the convention, Adityanath will inaugurate the jetty (Ghat). A total of 60 jetties are to be built between Varanasi and Kolkata. Seven jetties have been made ready in the state, including three in Varanasi, two in Ballia and one each in Chandauli, Ghazipur.

Sonowal is to arrive in the city on Thursday evening to attend the conference. Sonowal will also attend the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedhghat in the evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate an exhibition of 55 paintings based on his life at the Rudraksh Convention Center on Friday. Goyal and Adityanath will reach the city on Friday.

In view of the presence of several ministers, Police Commissioner AK Satish Ganesh held a virtual meeting with the officers regarding security arrangements and traffic. All the station in-charges were also involved in the meeting.

On Thursday, the officers remained active throughout the day as Adityanath s to arrive at Shahanshahpur of Araji Line block area on Friday. On the instructions of the officers, the sanitation workers carried out a cleanliness drive on a war footing on Rajatalab, Bhimchandi, Jakkhini, Mataldei, Badhaini, Bhawanipur, Mohansarai bypass intersections including Rajatalab to Jakkhini road, Mohansarai to Adalpura road.
