New Delhi, 16 December: The enrollment process for the clinical trial of indigenous Covid vaccine ‘Covaxin’ will be completed by the end of this month.

However, the interest of people for clinical trials seems to be very less. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) administration is not getting candidates for clinical trials.

According to sources, many people who have reached for clinical trials are going back only after hearing the vaccine trial process, due to which the number of people scheduled for the trial is not being met.

Dr Sanjay Rai, Professor of Center for Community Medicine, AIIMS, said that the process of registration of the candidate for the trial of Covaxin will be completed by the end of this month.

He admitted that the enthusiasm of the people had reduced due to the trial.

Dr Rai said that people are beginning to believe that when the vaccine will come in a few days, why they should participate in the trial. They reported that any medication or vaccine can have side effects. Full measures are taken for its management.

He said that even before testing the vaccine, people are told about its potential danger. No vaccine is 100 percent effective. Someone may have side effects, including a fever, body ache or dizziness. But all these side effects are managed.
