Mumbai, April 11: Mumbai Police arrested eleven people, including a BJP corporator who broke the lockdown orders in Panvel area of ​​Navi Mumbai. They were all assembled at one place for the celebration of a birthday party, Panvel police informed.

Senior Police Inspector of Panvel Police Station, Ajay Kumar said that in view of the increasing number of corona patients in Navi Mumbai, a complete lockdown has been enforced despite Panvel Municipal Corporation’s corporator Ajay Bahira was celebrating a birthday party by violating complete lockdown orders on the roof of his bungalow at Panvel on Friday night.

On this occasion, many people gathered despite ongoing lockdown on the roof of the corporator’s bungalow. On receiving the information about this matter, the police immediately arrested 11 people including PMC’s corporator. However, further investigation of the matter is underway, police said.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus situation continued to be grim in Maharashtra on Saturday as 92 fresh cases of corona positive were reported taking the total COVID-19 cases to 1666 on Saturday.

On the other hand, 111 people have died due to COVID-19 in Maharashtra, and 188 patients of corona have been recovered and discharged from the hospitals.
