Lucknow: Police Commissioner hoists the tricolor, people celebrate Republic Day with zeal and fervour

Lucknow, 26 January: The 72nd Republic Day is being celebrated in the country with full zeal and enthusiasm on Tuesday.

The Tricolour was hoisted at the Police Headquarters, Police Commissioner, Reserve Police, and Traffic Police Office in the capital of Uttar Pradesh. During this time, policemen who did better work were also honoured.

On the eve of Republic Day, Tricolour lights were seen on government and non-government buildings including Raj Bhavan, Vidhan Bhavan, Lok Bhavan, Bapu Bhawan, North Eastern Railway and Income Tax Office.

The markets also looked bright. At the same time, the police was completely alert about the security system. DGP HC Awasthi hoisted the tricolor at the police headquarters.

All policemen from ADG to Police Headquarters were present on this occasion. The Director General of Police (DGP) Uttar Pradesh honoured the policemen who performed well and said that we should take inspiration from them. We should do our duty honestly.

Similarly, Police Commissioner DK Thakur hoisted the National Flag at the police office and residence.

The Police Commissioner has wished the policemen a pledge to protect the unity of the country and contribute to strengthening it.

The Tricolour was hoisted in all government departments of the capital except ATS, STF office.
