Lakhimpur-Kheri man tests positive for COVID-19, total 16 cases in Uttar Pradesh, 5 cured

Lakhimpur-Kheri, March 19: 50-year-old man resident of Magalganj police station town in Lakhimpur Kheri has been confirmed to have infected with novel corona virus pandemic on Thursday.

However, his treatment is underway at King Georgeโ€™s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow.

According to the district magistrate (DM) Lakhimpur Kheri Shailendra Kumar Singh,  Umashankar Pandey, 50, is a owner of a battery shop in the city and he got a chance to visit Turkey by battery making company.

Singh said that however, after returning from Turkey on March 8, he got sick and got his treatment in neighboring district of Sitapur.

โ€œOn March 18, his son, Anand Pandey took him to KGMU after he again felt sick, where doctors admitted him and he was tested positive for COVID-19,โ€ DM informed.

In this regard, DM Shailendra Kumar Singh said that after confirmation of the patient that he is infected with virus, a team district health department and administration has been constituted to assess the details of his movements and meetings.
