Intensive monitoring of Bird Flu in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, 08 January: Due to the occurrence of bird flu infection in five states Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, intensive monitoring is being done in Uttar Pradesh.

The health department is constantly monitoring the status of the border regions of the state. Keeping in mind the impact of bird flu, the movement of migratory birds around the water bodies is also being monitored.

Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Disease Control and Area Dr Rampal Singh said on Friday that effective preparations are being made in the state to combat bird flu infection. Task force meetings are being organized in the districts and action is being taken to constitute Rapid Response (RRT) team. Continuous coordination is being established at the regional level with other associate departments, such as Health Department, Forest Department, Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Department, and Administrative Department etc.

The Director, Disease Control and Region said that with this there is no adverse effect in the public; hence the work of propagation is being done continuously.

He informed that district officials have also been directed for wide publicity through Google Meet and control room has been made active to keep in constant contact with all districts. Dr Rampal Singh said that there is no risk of bird flu by eating fully cooked chicken, meat or boiled eggs. At present, there is no reported outbreak of disease at any place in the state. Animal Husbandry Department is working continuously to ensure that the bird flu infection does not happen with its full capacity and dedication.
