Lucknow: HSRP to be installed by Aug 15 in vehicles with last nos 4, 5

Lucknow, May 17: The Transport Department has fixed the last date for the installation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) by August 15 in private vehicles with last numbers four and five in Uttar Pradesh. It is mandatory to apply HSRP by this date; otherwise the vehicles may have to undergo challan and fine.

In Uttar Pradesh, the deadline for installing HSRP in the last number zero, one, two and three of private vehicles has ended on May 15. The Transport Department has started preparations to take action against such vehicles. If caught without HSRP, there is a provision to pay a fine of up to five thousand rupees.

It has been made mandatory for all the private vehicles of the state including the capital Lucknow to have high security registration number plates according to the final numbers. Number wise dates have been fixed for this.

Applicants can apply online at www.siam.in website to get HSRP levied. It is mandatory to get HSRP installed by November 15 in vehicles whose last numbers are six and seven. Apart from this, it is mandatory to get HSRP installed by February 15 2023 in the vehicles whose last numbers are eight and nine.

Additional Transport Commissioner Devendra Kumar Tripathi told that the deadline for installing HSRP in vehicles whose last numbers is zero, one, two and three is over.

During checking, if the number plates are not found in the vehicles as per the rules, then the vehicle owner will have to pay a fine of five thousand rupees. Guidelines have been issued for action against vehicles without HSRP in the entire state.
