Mumbai, March 28: Film actor and former MP Govinda Ahuja on Thursday joined the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said Govinda has not made any demands and has expressed his willingness to work actively for Shiv Sena. CM Shinde also said that his party will continue to work for the welfare of film artistes.
On this occasion, Govinda expressed confidence that I will fulfill the responsibility given to me honestly. He gave a measured response to the question of contesting the Lok Sabha elections. When I was initially in politics from 2004 to 2009, when I came out I thought that maybe I would not come into politics again but after 14 years of exile, I am starting again.
Actor Govinda Ahuja has previously been an MP from the Congress party. He has now joined Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He is likely to get candidature from North West constituency of Mumbai.
