Weather update: Temperature higher than normal due to weakening of WD, rain likely to occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh

Kanpur, March 28: Due to weakening of Western Disturbance over Western Himalayas, weather patterns changed in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Due to the bright sunshine the temperature reached higher than normal and the situation became like summer days.

The Meteorological Department informed that another western disturbance is going to be active on Friday which may cause light rain in some districts of Uttar Pradesh, although there is no possibility of rain in Kanpur division.

Dr. S. N. Pandey meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology said on Thursday that the Western Disturbance is now moving north of 25 degrees north latitude with its axis 5.8 km along its axis 5.8 km in the form of a trough in the mid-tropospheric westerly winds. A cyclonic circulation is over western Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. A trough is extending from north-east Bihar to south-east Assam.

He stated that the trough/wind discontinuity extends from South Interior Karnataka to East Vidarbha up to 0.9 km above sea level. A cyclonic circulation is over Kerala and surrounding areas.

A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from March 29. This will also affect the weather of Uttar Pradesh. At the local level, there are chances of light rain in the districts. Strong winds will also blow.

He said that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 36.0 and the minimum temperature was 19.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 66 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 33 percent. The direction of the winds was north-west with an average speed of 3.0 km per hour.

According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate cloudy sky in Kanpur in the next five days but there is no possibility of rain. Wind speeds are likely to be above average. In such a situation, as the temperature increases, there is every possibility that the mercury will also rise.
