Lucknow, August 10: Due to the opposition of MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, the membership of former MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been terminated from the party.

The former MLA is accused of burning down to the residence of Rita Joshi.

BJP’s state media co-in-charge Himanshu Dubey told here on Tuesday that the party’s state president Swatantra Dev Singh has cancelled the membership of former MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu from the party.

Jitendra Singh Bablu had joined BJP about a week ago. BJP MP from Prayagraj Rita Bahuguna Joshi had expressed displeasure when he joined the BJP.

At that time she had said that Jitendra Singh had taken membership of the party by hiding facts. She had also said that she would talk to the party’s national president JP Nadda and state president Swatantra Dev Singh in this regard.

BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh had said that he was informed that the charges against Jitendra Singh were over. It was on this basis that he was granted membership.

In fact, in the year 2009, the residence of Rita Bahuguna Joshi in Lucknow was set on fire. At that time there was a government of Mayawati in the state. Many people including Jitendra Singh Bablu, who was then MLA of BSP, were made accused in this case.
