New Delhi, 22 September: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has summoned an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the Delhi Police while hearing the demand to register a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against former Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the Old Nangal rape case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Dharmendra Singh directed the next hearing on September 29.

The petition has been filed by Delhi BJP’s media chief Naveen Kumar. The petition has demanded that an FIR be ordered against Rahul Gandhi to reveal the identity of the victim’s family in the Delhi Cantt case.

Naveen Kumar alleged that Rahul Gandhi exposed the identity of the parents of the minor victim girl. The petition has sought registration of an FIR under the POCSO Act.

It is noteworthy that a nine-year-old girl, who had come to drink water from a water cooler at a crematorium in Purana Nangal, was murdered after being raped. After this incident, Rahul Gandhi had come to meet her family members. He posted a picture of the victim’s parents from his Twitter account.

Taking cognizance of this matter, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had ordered Rahul Gandhi to delete the tweet on August 4. After this order, Twitter suspended the Twitter account of Rahul Gandhi.
