Mau, April 30: The MP MLA Court in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar.
The court issued the warrant in a case related to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, accusing him of making offensive remarks against BJP leaders and threatening to beat them with shoes.
The case relates to an election rally held in Ratanpura Bazaar, Haldharpur police station area. According to the complaint, the minister incited party workers from the stage, threatening to abuse and beat BJP leaders with shoes, which was considered a violation of democratic values โโand the election code of conduct. An FIR was registered in this case based on the complaint of SI Rudrabhan Pandey, and after investigation, the police filed a charge sheet in the court.
However, Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP-MLA Court) Krishna Pratap Singh took a tough stand and issued a non-bailable warrant on Wednesday after the minister failed to appear in court during the framing of charges.
The next hearing in the case has now been scheduled for May 16, 2026, with instructions to ensure the minister’s presence.
