Chinese Virus: ‘Lockdown’ in entire UP till March 27, 11000 Isolation wards are available in UP, says Yogi

Lucknow, March 24: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a complete lockdown in the entire state till March 27 in view of the outbreak of Corona pandemic.

CM assured that the government is making extensive arrangements to ensure that the general public does not have any kind of shortage of essential commodities.

On Tuesday, Yogi spoke to the district administration and police officers, including representatives of trade organization, drug dealers and officers of the Laghu Udyog Bharti regarding to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

CM told that however, 34 cases of corona virus have been reported so far in the state. Of these, 11 have been recovered.

CM also mentioned two patients of COVID-19, one from Shamli and another from Jaunpur.

 โ€œA large number of people are coming in contact with others. So it is very important to make arrangements. In view of this, the District Magistrates have been authorized to declare lockdown or curfew where it is needed. On the other hand, sensing the sensitive situation due to corona pandemic, the local administration can take a decision in this regard,โ€ Yogi pointed out.

He said that the number of isolation wards has been increased to 11000 in view of Corona virus in the state. Vigilance about the corona virus has become even more necessary in the current situation. Therefore, all organizations should come forward to appeal in this regard also at their level.

โ€œPrices of essential commodities, medicines, masks etc. should not increase in any case. Black marketing is also inhuman and immoral,โ€ CM added.

He advised that people should not create panic situation by putting masks when it is not required. Masks are necessary only for those who are constantly in contact with people due to their involvement in essential services. Others may apply a clean handkerchief or cloth in three to four layers.

โ€œThe drug shops will be open continuously. The facilities required by the lockdown will not be affected at all,โ€ Yogi confirmed.

He said that an allowance of Rs 1000 per month is being given to 35 lakh workers of the state. Assistance of one thousand rupees will be sent simultaneously to the daily laborers’ account through direct benefit transfer (DBT).

โ€œAlong with the makeshift shopkeepers, rickshaw-pullers and e-rickshaws drivers will also be linked to it and assistance amount will also be sent to their account. The number of employees in government offices has been halved. In the private sector also, salaries of any employee will be deducted for their leave. They will get leave with salary,โ€ Yogi Adityanath assured.
