Centre expresses concern over the wastage of Corona vaccines

New Delhi, 17 March: The Union Health Ministry has expressed concern over the wastage of corona vaccines in the states.

On Wednesday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that 6.5 percent of Corona vaccines have been destroyed so far in the country.

The Health Secretary said in a press conference held in Delhi that Telangana (17 per cent), Andhra Pradesh (11 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (9 per cent), Karnataka (6 per cent) and Jammu and Kashmir (6 per cent) are at the forefront of vaccine wastage.

At the same time, Himachal Pradesh (1.4 percent) and Uttarakhand (1.6 percent) are better in terms of vaccine wastage. Instructions have been given to states to reduce the wastages of Covid-19 vaccines it immediately.

Rajesh Bhushan said that this vaccine to protect against corona is nectar. It should not be a waste.

On the question of lack of vaccine in Kolkata, he said that there is no shortage of Corona vaccine anywhere in the country. So far, 7.54 crore vaccines have been sent by the Centre to the states.

Instructions to increase the speed of vaccination in the 12 states most affected by Corona

Rajesh Bhushan said that corona cases have increased rapidly in 12 states in the country. These states include Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

Similarly, in the 70 districts of these states, there has been more than 150 percent increase in the case of corona. At the same time, corona cases have increased between 100 and 150 percent in 55 districts of 17 states. These states have been asked to strictly follow the guidelines issued to prevent corona. With this, the speed of vaccination has been asked to speed up in these states.
