New Delhi, 28 March: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the bill relating to the clear division of powers between the Lieutenant Governor and the Government in Delhi.

With the approval of the President of Delhi National Capital Territory (DNCT) Government (Amendment) Bill today, it has now become law.

It is noteworthy that the Delhi government is opposing this law, saying that the Central Government will rule Delhi indirectly through the Lieutenant Governor. With this, the elected government in Delhi will be of no importance.

The Delhi government says that it will go to the Supreme Court against this bill. At the same time, the Central Government says that its decision is in line with the decision of the Supreme Court. The bill was approved by Parliament on Wednesday.

Apart from this, President Ram Nath Kovind today also approved the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development Act.
