Gorakhpur, August 3: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Wednesday that his government will hire at least one person from every family in the state, and that a skill mapping project will be launched.

“During skill mapping, data from households where no one is employed will be compiled. Members of such families will be linked to a special program, and at least one family member will be hired,” he stated during a job fair here. “People will be taught and linked with job or self-employment as needed. No family in the state will be out of work,” he stressed.

The chief minister stated that the BJP’s double-engine government in the state and the Center had launched many programs such as Skill India and Startup India to recognize employees’ skills and potential.

He stated that the state government employed five lakh youngsters in the previous five years and provided loans to 60 lakh craftsmen. “The state’s unemployment rate was more than 18% in 2015-16. It has already plummeted by more than 16% and is presently at 2.7%, according to the CM.

Yogi stated that UP has made efforts to become a $1 trillion economy, which will contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a $5 trillion economy.

“In 2016, the UP economy was ranked sixth in the country; currently it is ranked second. Per capita income and GDP have doubled in the previous five years. The young, craftsmen, and workers are striving toward self-sufficiency,” the CM stated.
