New Delhi, August 3: Congress party leaders on Wednesday made the tricolor picture of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as their profile pictures on social media.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently appealed to the people to make the tricolor their profile display picture before the 75th anniversary of independence.

MP Rahul Gandhi changed his Twitter profile picture and wrote, “The pride of the country, our tricolor is in the heart of every Hindustani, our tricolor is in the heart.” Apart from this, Congress also changed the picture of its official account.

Congress leaders shared the tricolor photo of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on social media, while avoiding the BJP’s tricolor rally.

On this occasion, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the ?tricolor is in our heart, it is in our veins as blood.? On December 31, 1929, Pandit Nehru while hoisting the tricolor on the banks of river Ravi said, ‘Now the tricolor has been hoisted, it should not be bowed’. Ramesh appealed to the people that ?let us all make this tricolor our identity?, which gives the message of unbroken unity of the country.

Meanwhile, a Tiranga Bike Rally was organized by the Ministry of Culture from Red Fort to Parliament House on Wednesday. Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has raised questions on this. Chaudhary has accused the BJP of making the government event a party event. Only BJP leaders participated in this rally. Opposition parties have distanced themselves from the event.
