Yogi govt renames ‘State Guest Houses’ in Lucknow, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai

Lucknow, October 07: Governor Anandi Ben Patel has given her approval to change the names of guest houses in Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, which are under the control of the State Property Department.

Now, Uttar Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi will now be renamed as Uttar Pradesh Bhawan ‘Sangam’ New Delhi while Uttar Pradesh Sadan, New Delhi will now be known as Uttar Pradesh Sadan ‘Triveni’, New Delhi. The name of the VIP guest house located on Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Lucknow has been changed to ‘Saket’.

The Uttar Pradesh government has given special respect to Triveni Sangam, Ganga, Yamuna, Sarayu, Gomti, Ayodhya and Naimisharanya. By adding the names of holy rivers and places of pilgrimage to the names of guest houses, the government has once again proved how sensitive it is to its cultural heritage and Indian culture.

The name of the Special Guest House at Dalibagh, Lucknow has now been changed to ‘Yamuna’, the Special Guest House. The name of the State Guest House at Vikramaditya Marg, Lucknow has now been changed to the State Guest House ‘Gomti’ while the State Guest House at Mirabai Marg has been renamed as the State Guest House ‘Sarayu’. The word Naimisharanya has been associated with the name of the very special guest house built in Butler Palace, Lucknow.

The Uttar Pradesh State Guest House at Vashi, Navi Mumbai will now be known as the Uttar Pradesh State Guest House Vrindavan while the State Guest House at Kolkata has been renamed as the State Guest House ‘Ganga’.

Meanwhile, Special Secretary and State Asset Officer VK. Singh has conveyed this information in writing to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Speaker of the Assembly, all the ministers, MLAs, Legislative Council members and the Advocate General of the state on Thursday.
