Yogi govt merges secondary, basic education; nod to 22 proposals in Cabinet meet

Lucknow, 3 November: The Cabinet meeting held at Lok Bhavan on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took many important decisions. Now, Education Department will be under the Director General School Education (Basic and Secondary Education Department Merged).

Till now these two departments had separate directors. So far, Sarita Tiwari is the acting director of the secondary education department in the state, while the basic education department also has an acting director, Shubha Singh.

Giving information, Minister Sandeep Singh said that this decision will give major boost to education system. All the departments and offices of Secondary and Basic Education will be under the control of DG School.

The government has taken this decision to improve the education system from class one to 12 in the state.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister, has given green signal to 22 out of 23 proposals. Chief among these is the new Industrial Investment Policy and the Department of Basic and Secondary Education under the Director General School Education. At the same time, green signal has also been given for the construction of three private universities.

Proposals approved in the Cabinet meet:

: Regarding issuance of letter of intent for the establishment of SDGI Global University, Ghaziabad in the private sector under the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019.

: Regarding issuance of letter of intent for the establishment of Major SD Singh University, Fatehgarh, Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh in private sector under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019.

: Issuance of letter of intent for the establishment of JSS University, Noida in the private sector under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019.

: The system of giving land to investors above ?500 crore has been simplified.

: In connection with the provision of Irrigation Department land for canal construction related to Saryu Canal National Project in Siddharthnagar district.

: Regarding the transfer of 160.7608 hectares of non-forest land in lieu of 127.1637 hectares of forest land required for canal systems under Kanhar Irrigation Project.

: Uttar Pradesh molasses policy implemented.

: Regarding the amendment in the mandate of the Revenue Department to transfer the land of the Divisional Commissioner Office Complex, Varanasi (Revenue Department) free of cost on the withdrawal of the Housing and City Planning Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh for the proposed integrated divisional level office construction project in Varanasi.

: Regarding the amendment in the Uttar Pradesh Data Center Policy-2021 notified by Uttar Pradesh

: Regarding amendment in Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2020 notified by Uttar Pradesh

: The police commissioner system will now be implemented in the rural areas of Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Noida also. Entire Lucknow Police Commissioner will be included in the area. 6 rural police stations were added in Lucknow, 12 police stations in Varanasi and 14 rural police stations in Kanpur.
