Yogi government to dole out free ration for May and June under NFSA

Lucknow, 28 April: The Uttar Pradesh government has provided relief to people amid the surge in Covid-19 cases. The Yogi government will give the free ration of May and June to the eligible householder and Antyodaya card holder under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed to benefit more and more people with the facility of national ration portability from e-posh machines. He said that this ration being given by the state government would be in addition to the free ration announced by the Government of India for the month of May-June under National Food Security Act (NFSA).

He informed that the concerned department has been directed to prepare an immediate action plan. In the midst of this catastrophe of the Covid, the state government is determined to provide proper maintenance to every person.

Yogi said that the operation of sugar mills should continue uninterrupted. The cane price payment process is taking place at a fast pace. It should be reviewed constantly. Not a single farmer has outstanding cane price. Sanitizers should be manufactured rapidly in sugar mills.

Yogi has directed the deployment of police force for the safety of hospitals and oxygen plant. At the same time, quarantine centres have been asked to be set up in all villages.

He informed that the Oxygen Generation Plant (OGP) is being made in all the districts by the Government of India. The proposal for the remaining 61 districts has been sent in this regard.
