Yogi cabinet decision: Those above 18 years to get free corona vaccine in Govt hospitals

Lucknow, 20 April: Amid the coronavirus crisis, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a major decision in a virtual cabinet meeting on Tuesday. People above 18 years of age will get free Covid vaccination. The state government has decided to forward the vaccination program with its own resources. This vaccine will be administered in government hospitals.

In the Cabinet meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the current status of Covid 19 in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government is also working in this wave of Corona with the goal of saving both life and livelihoods. The battle against Covid-19 is being fought vigorously under the guidance of the Prime Minister.

He said that all the in-charge ministers should keep an eye on the status of Covid treatment in the district under their charge and guide the local administration.

The Chief Minister said that the Minister in-charge of each district, during regular review, emphasized to make efforts on war footing to ensure smooth availability of all life saving medicines including Remdesivir, doubling the number of Covid beds, uninterrupted supply of oxygen.

The issue of surging of coronavirus infection was the main point in the meeting that lasted about 1 hour.

In addition there will be vaccination in 3 categories. In which first people who have to take second dose will be engaged, then people above 45 years of age will be given vaccine and then those above 18 years of age will be given vaccine.

Along with this, it was also decided in the meeting that those who are competent and who can pay the price of the vaccine can also appeal to the government to get the vaccine in private hospitals.

Medical Education Minister Suresh Khanna, Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh and many officials were present in the meeting virtually.
