‘Voter Literacy for Strong Democracy’, theme of 10th National Voters’ Day

Lucknow, 18 December: On the occasion of National Voters’ Day on the instructions of Election Commission of India, various programs will be organized in all districts of Uttar Pradesh on January 25. The Commission has fixed the theme of 10th National Voters’ Day as’ ‘Voter Literacy for Strong Democracy ‘.

 State Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said here on Wednesday that the Central Election Commission has directed that National Voters’ Day should be organized with full enthusiasm in all districts, departments and schools on January 25. On this occasion, an oath should also be taken by the voters who attend the programs organized at each booth and at various levels.

The Chief Election Officer also held discussions with various participating institutions and departments in this regard today. During this, he said that ‘National Voters’ Day -2020 should be celebrated this time in a better way than in previous years.

Shukla said that on the occasion of Voters’ Day, people should be encouraged and made aware to exercise their voting rights. He also directed to organize Prabhat Pheri, slogan writing, essay writing competition, song competition, skits competition, online competition etc. in school colleges across the state.
