Varanasi, 19 January: Iqra Anwar Khan, daughter of an advocate Anwar Khan, a resident of Mughalsarai district Chandauli, contributed Rs 11,000 towards the construction of ‘bhavya’ Ram temple in Ayodhya during fundraising drive on Tuesday.

The special part of the contribution was that Iqra reached the office of Swami Jitendranand, General Secretary of All India Sant Samiti and handed over the cheque of Rs 11,000 herself. On this, Swami Jitendranand praised this initiative of Iqra.

Talking to the mediapersons, Iqra told that Lord Ram belongs to all of us. He (Lord Ram) does not belong to any one class and all we have to understand this.

The student further said that some people talk of dividing the society in the name of religion. But the name of Lord Ram connects us all in one ‘sutra’. We should give respect to every religion and due to this respect and devotion; I have contributed 11 thousand rupees in the construction of Shri Ram temple.

Iqra added if Ram temple is built then I will go there to pay obeisance at Shri Ram temple.

Interestingly, Ikra has got Lord Sri Ram’s name tattooed on her hands.

It is noteworthy that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s fundraising drive for the construction of grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is going on.

The RSS and the VHP workers are engaged into the task of collection of funds.

However, from Varanasi more than three crore five lakh rupees have been collected so far.

The campaign will run until 27 February. Two stages have been made for this. In the first phase, a campaign is going on for big donors, and in the second phase, money collection teams will go to every village.
