Varanasi awaits Modi, security nets cast wide by SPG

Varanasi, April 26: The Security agencies have been placed on high alert for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Varanasi, with the SPG team camping in the city, inspecting security points along the program venue and routes, and taking the airport, Bareka venue, and Guest House under surveillance; late Saturday evening, SPG officers held a high-level ASL meeting with local police and district administration at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur to thoroughly review security preparations.

The Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal stated that the SPG team also conducted a thorough inspection of the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur and the proposed routes. The team thoroughly inspected the approximately 25-kilometer route from the airport to the BAREKA campus and finalized preparations.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, after 4 p.m. on April 28th. During his two-day visit to the temple town, on the first day, Prime Minister Modi will interact with over 40,000 women at a massive women’s conference organized at the Banaras Rail Engine Factory (BAREKA).

From the public meeting venue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 160 projects worth ₹6,269.86 crore for Kashi. This includes the inauguration of 48 projects worth ₹1,052.89 crore and the foundation stone laying of 112 projects worth ₹5,216.97 crore. The projects for which the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone include the Signature Bridge at Rajghat, to be built at a cost of ₹2,464 crore, sewerage and water supply in urban areas at a cost of ₹1,582.99 crore, the SSPG at a cost of ₹429.36 crore, and a 198-bed hospital.

After interacting with women and inaugurating the projects, the Prime Minister will rest overnight at the Bareka Guest House. The next day, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple for worship. The Prime Minister’s convoy will depart from the Bareka Guest House in the form of a road show at 8 am.

According to the BJP officials, the Prime Minister will depart from the BLW and proceed via Lahartara to the Police Lines. From there, he will proceed via Chaukaghat, Lahurabir, and Maidagin to Baba Vishwanath Dham. In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s road show, the BJP Kashi region has designated five locations for his welcome. BJP workers, public representatives, and officials will give the Prime Minister a grand welcome at the welcome point in front of Banaras Railway Station (Manduadih), Police Line Square, Lahurabir Square, Maidagin Square, and near the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

According to Kashi region president Dilip Patel, preparations have been completed. The route from Bareka to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham has been decorated.
