Ganga Expressway among key projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi in UP

New Delhi, April 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh on April 28 and 29. During this period, he will participate in a women’s conference in Varanasi and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth approximately Rs 6,350 crore. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Ganga Expressway, built at a cost of Rs 36,230 crore, in Hardoi.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that on April 28 at around 5 pm, the Prime Minister will attend a women’s conference in Varanasi and address a public meeting. On this occasion, he will inaugurate 48 projects worth over Rs 1,050 crore, including major projects such as road widening, railway overbridges, and sewage treatment plants.

Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for over 112 projects worth approximately โ‚น5,300 crore. These include water supply and sewerage schemes, a 500-bed multi-specialty hospital, tourism development, ghat redevelopment, and various administrative infrastructure. On the same day, the Prime Minister will flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains: the Banaras-Pune and Ayodhya-Mumbai Amrit Bharat Expresses.

The following morning, April 29, the Prime Minister will visit and offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He will then arrive in Hardoi to inaugurate the Ganga Expressway. This 594-kilometer-long expressway will reduce the travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from 10-12 hours to approximately 6 hours. This project will connect 12 districts, creating a new network of high-speed connectivity in the state.

A key feature of the expressway is the strategically important 3.5-kilometer emergency airstrip in Shahjahanpur. Additionally, the project will help boost industrial investment, agricultural income, logistics, and employment.
