Uttar Pradesh: Ration card to be given to all migrant workers and the needy – Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, May 12: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to allot ration cards to all needy and eligible people.

He said that arrangements should be made to issue ration cards in a phased manner to all migrant workers and the needy coming to the State of Uttar Pradesh. Food grains should be provided to migrant workers, labourers, even if no needy has ration card. It should be ensured that no one faces problems when it comes to food or food grains.

Lockdown should be strictly enforced in Agra, Meerut and Kanpur cities

The Chief Minister was reviewing the lockdown system at a high level meeting at his government residence here on Tuesday.

He directed to strictly implement the nationwide lockdown in Agra, Meerut and Kanpur districts.

He hoped that monitoring committees have a big role in controlling the coronavirus infection outbreak.

“Therefore, monitoring committees should be activated for better surveillance at the ward level in all gram panchayats and urban bodies. Monitoring committees will undertake the surveillance of migrant workers and labourers during the period of domestic quarantine,” Yogi added.

Monitoring committees inform when outsiders enter into their area secretly  

It should also be ensured by the monitoring committees that if any outsider secretly comes to their area, they should inform the administration. Later, monitoring committees can also play a useful role in tree planting and food distribution.

Instructing to prepare a mechanism for the work of the monitoring committees, CM said that the members of the village head, village chowkidar, Asha Worker Swachhagrahi, Youth Mangal Dal and Nehru Yuva Kendra should be included in this committee.

Private mandis (Vegetable markets) should be established in the interest of farmers

The Chief Minister directed to strictly implement the lockdown in Agra, Meerut and Kanpur cities on the account of the spiking of cases of Covid-19.

He said that the quarantine centre and community kitchen should be tagged. All Krishi Vigyan Kendras should promote Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) and train farmers for agricultural diversification.

“Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana(PMKSNY) and Price Support Scheme, the system of wheat purchasing center should be better implemented. Private mandis should be established at some places in the interest of farmers,” Yogi directed.

He instructed Principal Secretary Agriculture, Principal Secretary Food and Logistics and Food Commissioner to inspect the mandis and avail the data.

More and more testing and training will help to prevent infection

The Chief Minister said that special emphasis should be laid on testing and training for effective control over the spread of infection. More and more testing and better training of medical team helps a lot in preventing infection. Special attention should be paid to training by Health Department and Medical Education Department. All necessary measures should be taken to prevent infection of all front line workers including medical, police.

Immediately restore emergency services in non-Covid hospitals

PPE kits, N-95 masks and sanitizers etc. should be maintained in hospitals. All ventilators should be kept functional. Emergency services should be restored immediately in non-Covid hospitals, making all arrangements to prevent medical infection.

Start preparing now for the prevention of communicable diseases

The Chief Minister directed to start preparations for the prevention of communicable diseases occurring during the rainy season.

He said that effective efforts should be made for prevention and treatment of communicable diseases and for smooth drinking water system during summer season. Health Department should organize interdepartmental meeting related to prevention of communicable diseases this week.

“Community health centres should be kept ready in districts sensitive to encephalitis. Rural Development Department should discharge the responsibility of sanitation and drinking water system in rural areas and urban development department in urban areas,” Yogi said.

Need to restore economic activity

The Chief Minister said that this work of skill mapping should be continued by compiling details related to the names, address, telephone and skills of migrant workers and labourers at the quarantine centers. This description will have a useful role in providing employment to migrant workers. It is necessary to restore the economic activities affected by the corona. In view of this, action related to investment growth should be accelerated. In view of revenue growth, mining activities should be accelerated. Permission to open hardware shops outside the hotspot areas should be given.
