Uttar Pradesh Police collects over Rs 68 cr fine for mask violations

Lucknow, 06 May: In a statement issued on Thursday, Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order Prashant Kumar informed that 40151 police personnel have been found infected with Covid-19 across the state during performing their duties. However, about 14045 policemen have been recuperating after beating Corona.

He said that at present the number of micro-contention zones in the Corona affected areas is 54871, while the number of large containment zones is 110638. Of these, a total of 36 thousand 668 policemen are deployed and are supervising the security system.

The ADG also informed that to check the spread of infection of Corona, a continuous checking drive is being carried out throughout the state as per the instructions of the government. So far 53 lakh 89 thousand challans have been slapped against those who do not wear masks. So far, an amount of Rs 68 crore 12 thousand has been collected as fines from these mask violators.

He said that in the challenging circumstances of the Corona period, the three-tier panchayat elections have been conducted peacefully, showing the professional skills by the Uttar Pradesh Police with all its efforts. For which all police personnel and employees deserve congratulations.

โ€œAll police officers and personnel who have returned after completion of election duty have been directed that they immediately get a Corona test done while resting in the special Barrack and Covid Care Centre in the police line and police station of the district,โ€ he added.  

He further said that police personnel return to duty only after getting healthy fully by using the medical facilities available at the Covid Care Centre.
