Uttar Pradesh: Out of the total 480 Corona positive cases, 270 are related to Jamaatis

Lucknow, 12 April: Due to the followers of Tablighi Jamaat, there is a continuous spike in the cases of Corona infection. Hereby, tracking of other hidden Jamaatis is underway.

Till Sunday, 480 Corona positive cases have been reported from 41 districts of the state. Out of the total positive cases, 270 cases are related Jamaat group. In this way, more than fifty percent of the total COVID-19 cases are related to the Jamaatis, pointed out Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi in a press conference at Lok Bhavan on Sunday.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi told that 2,461 people who joined the Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi have been identified and out of this, 2,267 Jamaatis have been quarantined.

After February 01, 2020, the number of foreign Tablighi, who have come to Uttar Pradesh and are present in different districts of the state, is 325, informed Awasthi.

ACS, Home said that all of them have been clinically quarantined. An FIR has been registered against 44 foreign members of Tablighi Jamaat and 259 passports have been seized. 66 people are Nepalese citizens.

โ€œThe government also increased the number of laboratories in the state due to spike in the cases of corona. Due to this, the number of testing labs has increased to 14 in the state. Till now 11,821 people have been tested, out of which 11,341 people have reported negative,โ€ added Awanish Awasthi.

Along with this, with the help of 1085 door step delivery milk booths and delivery boy, packets of milk are being distributed to the people residing in the hotspots areas of the state. A total of 1,803 vehicles have been installed for distribution of fruits and vegetables, essential goods are being supplied in these areas through 1,913 persons and 1447 provisional stores. 110 community kitchens operate for hotspots areas.
