Uttar Pradesh: Decline in crimes due to police commissionerate in 4 districts, claim ACS Home, DGP UP

Lucknow, August 04: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Director General of Police (DGP) Mukul Goyal jointly reviewed four police commissionerates at the police headquarters through video conferencing on Wednesday.

Through video conferencing, a thorough review of the efforts being made towards law and order and better control of crimes and more effective control of the four police commissionerates in Lucknow, Noida, Varanasi and Kanpur was done.

In this direction, the strategy to be adopted for future challenges was discussed. Civil utility facilities started with the help of police in the four districts under the Police Commissionerate system were also appreciated.

Besides the four police commissioners of the state, Zonal Additional Director Generals of Police participated in this review meeting. It was informed in the meeting that commendable work has been done in the direction of crime control in the state.

Since the introduction of the Police Commissionerate system, crimes have come down and criminals have been effectively dealt with.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Director General of Police have directed all the concerned police officers to make more efforts in this direction to control crime under the zero tolerance policy of the government.

They also said that the efforts made in the direction of crime control should be reviewed regularly at the zonal and commissionerate level and such strict action should be taken against the police personnel who are lax or negligent in the direction of crime control. Go who can set an example.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) has said that serious efforts are being made by the government for the establishment of new police stations, outposts and construction of residential and non-residential buildings for the police.

With the implementation of Police Commissionerate system, he has also directed to immediately submit the necessary proposals to the government regarding the necessary infrastructure facilities to make the policing of rural areas of that district stronger so that by making policing more efficient, practical difficulties faced by the police can be resolved as soon as possible.

However, necessary instructions were also given after thorough review of compliance of prescribed procedure for distribution of manpower and other resources of police under commissionerate system.

Awasthi said that the government is very sensitive towards the martyrs and the dead personnel while performing their duty in the service of the police department. We are determined to provide all kinds of benefits to their dependents as soon as possible.

He also reviewed the pending proposals regarding giving jobs to the dependents of the deceased police personnel and directed to complete this work on priority basis.
