Lucknow, August 04: The Central and State governments are standing with every section of the state including the needy and poor in the global pandemic of Corona by providing free facilities from treatment to ration.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), the government is going to register another record by giving free ration to 80 lakh people from 80 thousand ration shops in the state on Thursday i.e. on August 5. For this, extensive preparations have been made.

A spokesperson of the state government said here on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would also interact directly with the beneficiaries of PMGKAY on this occasion.

During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute food grains to the poor and needy in Ayodhya. Also, he will virtually join the program of the Prime Minister.

It is worth noting that in the first wave of Corona, due to lockdown and other reasons, the person standing on the last rung in the society does not have to sleep hungry, for this, Prime Minister Modi had announced to give free ration in March last year under the PMGKAY.

Under this, the Central Government for 11 months and the state government for five months has given more than 10 crore quintals of free ration to the people. Due to this, about 15 crore people of the state have got free ration every month.

Subsidized savings of more than 3263 crores till May

The spokesman said that in the previous governments, black marketing of ration and protests and demonstrations regarding corruption had become common, but in order to make the ration distribution system tight, ration distribution was started by the state government through e-pass machines. As a result, the state government has saved subsidy of more than 3263 crores till May.
