UP’s 7 dists among top 10 in NITI Aayog delta ranking

Lucknow, October 13: The National Institution for transforming India (NITI) Aayog has released the delta ranking of 112 most backward districts of the country on the basis of July-August 2021 survey.

In this Delta report of NITI Aayog, seven districts of Uttar Pradesh have made it to the top 10 in the list of aspirational districts of the country.

These districts are Siddharthnagar, Bahraich, Sonbhadra, Shravasti, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot and Chandauli. In these, Fatehpur has achieved second place in the field of development in the whole country, working on the set standards of NITI Aayog.

On the third place, Siddharthnagar, on the fourth, Sonbhadra, Chitrakoot on the fifth, Bahraich on the seventh, Shravasti on the eighth and Chandauli on the ninth have made the place.

Among the eight aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh, Chitrakoot and Bahraich have excelled on the standards of NITI Aayog.

The commission has allocated additional budget to these districts for development works.

In the Overall Delta Ranking of NITI Aayog, Chitrakoot has secured the fifth position in the country on many parameters including education, health, and nutrition.

The six developmental areas taken into account by Delta Ranking are health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and infrastructure development.

The ranking of aspirational districts is released every month. Aspirational District Program started in January 2018. Its objective is to promote those districts which have seen less progress in important social areas and have emerged as less developed areas.
