Lucknow, 16 November: The State Election Commission will make available the voter list of removed and added names to the political parties.

However, this demand was made by the Samajwadi Party (SP) by giving a memorandum to the State Election Commission.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav had said that if the list of names is not received, the SP will be forced to sit on a โ€˜dharnaโ€™ against the Election Commission.

On behalf of the SP, just a few days ago, a delegation led by State President Naresh Uttam reached the State Election Commission’s office and gave a memorandum. There was a demand that updated voter lists should be made available by the Election Commission. It was also done in 2019.

The Election Commission did not say anything on this. After this, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav had also said in the press conference that if the Election Commission does not provide the list, then we will also be compelled to protest against SEC.

On Tuesday, through a press release on behalf of the SP, it was said that during the continuous revision program in the voter list from January 16 to October 31, 2020-21 at every booth (polling place) of every Vidhan Sabha of all the districts of the state. According to the SEC, 21, 56,267 names were added to the voter list and 16, 42,756 names were deleted. A large number of names were added and names were deleted, for which the list was not given to the political parties for verification, whereas till the last election they said list was given to the political parties
