UP: CM Yogi instructs to expedite Covid immunization drive

Lucknow, 16 November: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to expedite the Covid vaccination drive even more.

However, the Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of people given both the shots of the Covid vaccine, Yogi said.

He said, over three crore 90 lakh people have been administered the both doses of the vaccine. So far more than 14 crore 14 lakh Covid vaccine doses have been provided in the state. 10.24 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine. This number is about 70 percent of the total population of the state eligible for vaccination.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the team-9 meeting on Tuesday that there is a need to intensify the immunization drive.

The Chief Minister has given instructions to constitute inspection teams in every district. This team will visit at least two vaccination centers in a day and have to look at the arrangements.

Similarly, the monitoring committees have been instructed to prepare a list of people who have not yet taken the vaccine by doing door-to-door screening. The Chief Minister said that the disabled, disabled, destitute, old people should be contacted and vaccinated.

Yogi said that the pandemic is completely controlled in the state due to proper implementation of the policy of tracing, testing, treatment and vaccination to protect against Covid-19. In 45 districts of the state, not a single one is infected today. There is only one patient in 19 districts.

โ€œIn the last 24 hours, in the examination of one lakh 22 thousand 74 samples, not a single new patient was found in 70 districts. A total of nine infected were confirmed in only five districts. In the same period, eight infected coronas have become free,โ€ said CM Yogi.  

He further added, today, the total number of active Covid cases in the state is 99, while 16 lakh 87 thousand 280 patients have defeated Corona. Caution and vigilance are essential to maintain effective control over COVID.

Chief Minister Yogi said that there is a steady decline in the test positivity rate of Zika virus. No new case came in last 24 hours. The situation in Kannauj and Kanpur is improving with every day. People’s health is improving rapidly. Special caution is needed at this time. Tracing-testing should be intensified. Arrangements have been made in all hospitals for the treatment of unwell people.

โ€œThe health of each patient should be continuously monitored. Continue the work of extensive sanitation, sanitization and fogging for rescue. Full cooperation of monitoring committees including Asha sisters should be taken,โ€ he added.

Yogi stated that in certain districts, arbitrary recovery has been reported by the pathology centers for testing dengue etc. This is not acceptable at all. Clear orders should be issued after reviewing the rates of investigation immediately. Surprise inspection should also be done at pathology centers. Every complaint of arbitrary recovery, harassment of patients should be taken cognizance, pronto.
