UP: Section 144 under CrPC imposed in 16 districts of UP

Lucknow, 26 February: Police officers of Uttar Pradesh have sealed  the Delhi border adjoining with UP in view of to stop the anti-CAA violence moving towards Uttar Pradesh from national capital.  

Therefore, checking of vehicles as well as suspected persons coming from Delhi is being carried out.

Section 144 of the CrPC has been implemented in 16 districts including the districts adjoining  the borders of Delhi with Uttar Pradesh.

In all these districts, Acting Director General of Police, UP Police Hitesh C. Awasthy has spoken to the concerned police officers through video conferencing  regarding security arrangements to be put in place in the sensitive areas.

At the same time, Acting DGP has rendered the responsbility of  eloborate security arrangements  to the Additional Director General of Police Avinash Chandra of  Aligarh area, Inspector General of Police Ramit Sharma of Sambhal area, Inspector General of Police Jyoti Narayan to Bulandshahar and Hapur, Inspector General of Police Laxmi Narayan to Muzaffarnagar and Deputy Inspector General of Police J. Ravindra Gaur has been given the responsibility of  Bijnor.

Menawhile, the paramilitary forces conducted a flag march on Wednesday morning on Khajuri Pushta Marg in district Ghaziabad.

In the large colonies and mohallas attached to the border, Senior Superintendent of Police of Ghaziabad Kalanidhi Naithani has also conducted patrolling with the police force attached to the police stations.

On the other hand, Lucknow Police Commissioner Sujeet Pandey has put a heavy police force in Ghantaghar area, where Muslim women are continuing their anti-CAA sit-in since one month, in Lucknow district. Some police personnel have also been deployed in civil dress.
